Three days before No. 20 West Virginia takes on No. 10 Virginia in Madison Square Garden for the Jimmy V Classic, the Mountaineers easily dispatched Kennesaw State, 87-54, at the WVU Coliseum on Saturday. The Mountaineer forced 31 turnovers, the third time this season they have forced more than 30 turnovers in a game.
Saturday also marked the return of big man Brandon Watkins, who was recently cleared to play off an injury. Watkins scored six points and grabbed six rebounds in 17 minutes of game action. Watkins’ addition now adds depth down low for the Mountaineers.
“I was just nervous,” Watkins said.
