District basketball roundup: Robert Morris women's coach Sal Buscaglia sets win mark

A 78-63 victory by Robert Morris (7-5) Saturday against Sacred Heart (2-10) at Sewall Center made Sal Buscaglia the winningest women’s basketball coach in school history.

The win improved his record to 212-170, lifting him past Dan Swalga, who coached from 1978-90.

“Winning 212 games here is a reflection of the quality of student-athlete that we’ve had along with the great support staff that I’ve had the fortune to work with,” he said.

Anna Niki Stamolamprou, who became the 20th Robert Morris player to eclipse 1,000 career points in the win, scored 22 in what was the Northeast Conference opener for both teams.
