LUBBOCK, Texas – A valiant fourth quarter comeback effort fell short, as No. 18/19-ranked West Virginia fell, 75-66, to Texas Tech on Wednesday evening at the United Supermarkets Arena.
WVU (14-3, 2-3) trailed by 14 at the end of the third quarter. The Mountaineers utilized a 21-4 run over six minutes in the fourth quarter, eventually tying the game at 3:02 with a Lanay Montgomery jumper. Ivonne CookTaylor hit a two to put TTU up 62-60. WVU responded with two free throws from Teana Muldrow to tie the game once again. However, Recee’ Caldwell responded with a three to give the Lady Raiders the go-ahead bucket.
