Cashin Wins 3,000m Steeplechase at Billy Hayes

“We got a few things complied today,” said coach Sean Cleary. “Our mid-distance runners had good showings. I feel we have the opportunity to sneak a few into the NCAA Championships with tonight's running. This was a nice little tune-up for the Big 12 Championship. Now, it’s time to focus on next week.”

Competition at the Billy Hayes Invitational was highlighted by junior Amy Cashin’s victory in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to sit third in WVU outdoor history. The Mountaineers also added two top-seven finishes in the women’s 1,500-meter run fast section.

Cashin took the 3,000-meter steeplechase title with a career-best time of 10:21.
