Cashin, Morgan Named Big 12 Scholar-Athletes

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Seniors Amy Cashin of the West Virginia University track and field team and Louisa Morgan of the WVU rowing team have been named the 2017 Big 12 Scholar-Athletes of the Year for their respective sports, the conference announced on Thursday.

A native of Werribee, Australia, Cashin has maintained a 3.91 grade point average, while majoring in sports exercise psychology and double minoring in psychology and athletic coaching.

This is Cashin’s first Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the second for the Mountaineer track and field team.

“Amy has had a dream year of sorts,” WVU track and field coach Sean Cleary said.
