MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior Amy Cashin of the West Virginia University track and field team won the women’s 1,500-meter run at the Virginia Grand Prix on Saturday, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Competing in back-to-back weekends at Lannigan Field, WVU collected a victory thanks to Cashin and added two runner-up finishes from senior Marseille McBeam and junior Shamoya McNeil.
The Werribee, Australia, native Cashin won the 1,500 meters with a career-best time of 4:21.18. She shed 0.41 seconds off of her previous-best set during the 2015 outdoor season. Senior Megan Yuan placed sixth in the event with a season-best time of 4:31.
