MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Needing a strong run in the Big 12 Conference Tournament to play their way into the ‘Big Dance’, the WVU women’s basketball team was unable to take the court in Kansas City last month. The COVID-19 pandemic shut down college sports across on country on March 12th, one day before the Mountaineers were scheduled to face Texas in the Big 12 quarterfinals.
“I thought we were practicing better,” said WVU head coach Mike Carey. “I thought in games we were playing better the last couple weeks of the season. We were getting back to where I felt we were early in the season.
