MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University women’s basketball coach Mike Carey announced the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent (NLIs) for the 2017-18 season on Wednesday.
Destiny Harden (Chicago, Ill./Morgan Park), Ashley Jones (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann and Goretti Catholic) and Makayla Stanley (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) are the 2017 Mountaineer signing class. West Virginia’s recruiting class is ranked No. 17 by ESPN HoopGurlz and No. 20 by the BlueStar Basketball Report.
“We had certain needs,” Carey remarked. “We had a need at the point guard position, so we addressed that with Ashley. We had a need in the post position, and we were able to address that with Makayla.
