MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Neal Brown’s contract at West Virginia includes a $150,000 incentive for winning the Big 12 title and $100,000 for appearing in the conference championship game.
The six-year deal worth more than $19 million was made available by the university Thursday through a Freedom of Information Act request.
Brown’s contract runs through Dec. 31, 2024. Should he be fired without cause before Dec. 31, 2020, the university would owe him 100 percent of his remaining salary. After the 2020 season, the school’s buyout obligation drops to 75 percent.
