MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - After setting a school record on the final day of the 2017 Big 12 Outdoor Championships on Sunday, sophomore Danique Bryan of the West Virginia University track and field team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
A Clarendon, Jamaica, native, Bryan stood on the Big 12 podium wearing a bronze medal after setting a WVU outdoor record of 13.68 meters (44’-10 ¾) in the triple jump. She bested Christine Brown’s 13.20-meter mark (43’-3 ¾”) set in 2001. Bryan returns to Morgantown with two All-Big 12 honors after receiving her first on Saturday in the long jump, where she placed seventh with a mark of 6.
