Yesterday, the ACC released scheduling stipulations to their member institutions for fall sports, removing Florida State, North Carolina and Virginia from the slate of games part of the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, in Atlanta, Ga. Today, Peach Bowl, Inc. announced that the games are officially canceled.
Those matchups were: West Virginia vs. Florida State on Saturday, Sept. 5, Georgia vs. Virginia on Monday, Sept. 7, and Auburn vs. North Carolina on Saturday, Sept. 12.
In response to the ACC’s announcement yesterday, Peach Bowl Peach Bowl CEO Gary Stokan issued a statement that did not exactly cancel the events, saying they would miss hosting the three ACC schools but the organization looks forward to hosting two top-10 teams in the Peach Bowl.
