An Anti-Horns Down fervor continues to spread through the Big 12, with even archrival Oklahoma declaring the gesture off-limits this week.
If Oklahoma wasn’t the inventor of “Horns Down,” the Sooners are certainly the ones who perfected it over the past several decades during the teams’ annual neutral-site showdown at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. But OU coach Lincoln Riley declared that there will be no flashing the sign this week.
“Our players won’t do it,” Riley said.
Riley and most of the Sooner team celebrated last year’s win in the Big 12 championship game by flashing “Horns Down” in their team picture.
