Big 12 move hasn't had major impact on West Virginia recruiting

When West Virginia joined the Big 12 in 2012 the immediate assumption was that the Mountaineers would become a bigger recruiting presence in Texas and the Big 12 region.

Yet, outside of an initial bump in the Class of 2012 with five signees from Texas, not much has changed with West Virginia recruiting. Even with the move, Florida has remained the most fertile recruiting ground for the Mountaineers, with Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland remaining key spots to land playmakers.

In West Virginia’s first four years in the Big 12 the Mountaineers landed 27 recruits from Florida after signing 22 during the four years before joining the conference.
