Isaiah Kearns was dealing in WVU’s dominating 11-1 win over Baylor in the Big 12 Championships.
Due to the conference’s mercy rule, the game only lasted eight innings.
Kearns pitched his first complete game of the season, allowing only one run off of six hits while dealing six strikeouts. He faced the minimum in six of the game’s eight innings.
Offensively, the game was basically over in the first inning. West Virginia (33-22) got up to a 4-0 lead behind RBIs by Darius Hill, Kyle Davis, Braden Zarbnisky and Jimmy Galusky. Then, Kyle Gray hit a bases clearing triple to give the Mountaineers an early 7-0 lead.
