FORT WORTH, Texas — TCU spent $72 million spiffing up its basketball arena. The team’s renovation hasn’t shown as much progress.
Saturday’s 69-48 loss at Oklahoma State, and particularly the Frogs’ overreliance on 3-point shots outside the offensive game plan, left coach Trent Johnson fuming. Hopes TCU might reach a legit postseason tournament for the first time in a decade have subsided after an 8-5 start.
“Like I told them, you need to figure out how competitive you want to be because this league has no mercy on people who don’t want to compete and play at a high level,” he said.
