MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following her game-winning performance in the No. 3/5 WVU women’s soccer team’s 2-0 win against Texas on Sept. 25, freshman defender Hannah Abraham has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
The Fairchance, Pennsylvania, native delivered the team a victory in its Big 12 Conference opener, heading in a cross from Bianca St. Georges in the 36th minute to give WVU (10-1, 1-0) an advantage it would not lose. The score was Abraham’s first career goal in Morgantown and first career game-winner.
WVU’s shutout was its program-best ninth straight and NCAA-best 10th of the season.
