Brandon Myles was the perfect example of a developmental player who blossomed when he got his opportunity to shine.
Myles, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound wide receiver from Goochland, Virginia, spent a season playing behind Chris Henry in 2004 before Henry chose to forgo his senior season in 2005 and enter the NFL draft. Lock-down cover corner Pacman Jones also departed early, robbing West Virginia of its two most explosive playmakers on either side of the football.
Those two key losses and Coach Rich Rodriguez’s inability to choose between quarterbacks Adam Bednarik and Pat White tempered people’s expectations heading into the 2005 season.
