MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia received a commitment Monday from Buford, Ga., offensive lineman Tyler Thurmond, a Rivals two-star prospect who jumped at his first Power Five offer.

The product of one of the nation’s top high school programs, Thurmond holds offers from UNC-Charlotte, Ohio, UT-San Antonio, Georgia State and Old Dominion, along with multiple FCS schools.
The 6-foot-5, 280-pounder could play tackle or guard in college, according to Rivals writer Keenan Cummings.
“This is exactly the type of player that West Virginia has had success with on the offensive line in recent classes—taking bigger-framed bodies with potential and molding them,” said Cummings.
