West Ham are set to announce the appointment of former Bayer Leverkusen chief Tim Steidten as the club's new technical director.
The Hammers had been considering candidates for the position as part of a planned restructuring.
A deal was agreed with Steidten ahead of West Ham's triumph in the Europa Conference League final, which qualified the club for next season's Europa League.
Steidten, who left Leverkusen in March, is set to sign a contract shortly to take on the technical director role at West Ham.
Lee Dykes of Brentford and Paul Mitchell, who is leaving his role at Monaco, were also considered as contenders for the position.
