West Ham to issue stewards with video cameras for Chelsea tie in effort to avoid another outbreak of hooliganism

West Ham will issue stewards with handheld video cameras to ensure Monday’s derby against Chelsea does not witness a repeat of the ugly scenes that marred the clubs’ previous meeting at the London Stadium.

Manager Slaven Bilic has sat through hours of meetings with vice-chairman Karren Brady to discuss measures designed to prevent another outbreak of hooliganism after their EFL Cup meeting in October was overshadowed by trouble.

Hundreds of supporters of both teams hurled bottles, seats and coins at each other towards the end of the game. Seven arrests were made and West Ham banned 71 fans from their new home.
