Robert Snodgrass was enjoying having his steak prepared by famously flamboyant chef Salt Bae during West Ham’s Dubai training trip when something struck him.
To those less seasoned with internet sensations, Salt Bae is a Turkish chef — real name Nusret Gokce — who shot to fame in January when a video of him sensually preparing a t-bone steak and finishing it off with a fanciful flick of salt went viral. His following on social media increased by several millions and prompted Hollywood star Leonardo Di Caprio to visit.
West Ham were in need of a distraction from the coldest, wettest warm-weather training in history so they planned a trip to Gokce’s Nusr-Et restaurant chain.
