West Ham have had a second bid of £42million rejected for Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta.
The 24-year-old Brazilian is keen to join West Ham and his agents remain in London.
West Ham are mulling over another offer with Lyon pushing for £50m and other Premier League clubs monitoring talks.
The Hammers held talks with the 25-year-old in London on Wednesday ahead of a proposed switch.
Paqueta would become West Ham's eighth new signing of the summer but only the second addition to their midfield after Flynn Downes.
