West Ham are ready to offer £25million for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
The Hammers are in search of another midfielder as Declan Rice's transfer to Arsenal nears completion and have been given a £105million kitty to spend from Rice's departure.
A central midfielder is top of the club's priority list and David Moyes' side are ready to splash out on Ward-Prowse, who is set to leave Southampton following their relegation from the Premier League.
Southampton had valued their captain at £40million and hoped to recoup around £100million from player sales ahead of their return to the Championship, but may have to sell Ward-Prowse on the cheap.
