David Moyes admits he wanted to bring ‘one more player’ to West Ham United before the January transfer window slammed shut.
West Ham completed a loan deal for Joao Mario last week, and signed Jordan Hugill from Preston on deadline day.
However, injuries to Marko Arnoutivic and Manuel Lanzini meant the Hammers were keen to recruit more players.
A further injury to Pedro Obiang and a six-game ban for Arthur Masuaku meant the Scot was left with a threadbare squad from which to pick from.
Speaking in his weekly column in the London Evening Standard, Moyes said: “Before those injuries, we had planned to bring in two players and then, when the injuries occurred, we ideally wanted a third.
