Vodafone have performed a U-turn over the naming rights to the London Stadium after announcing substantial losses of £5.2billion.
West Ham’s home was tipped to be renamed the Vodafone Arena in a six-year agreement worth an annual £6million. Talks had reached an advanced stage, insiders revealed to Sportsmail in April.
Yet Vodafone’s results for the year to March 2017 were released on Tuesday morning and show a staggering loss of €6.1 billion (£5.2bn).
There were suggestions that Vodafone pulling out of the multi-million pound deal with West Ham was down to last month’s HMRC raids but sources insist it is a financial decision.
