West Ham United are trying to cut short the loan deal of Simone Zaza to allow them to bring in a new striker in January, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.
Zaza, 25, has struggled to impress at West Ham since his arrival on a season-long loan deal from Juventus in August.
The Italy international has failed to score in nine appearances for the Hammers and his performances have come in for criticism.
As part of the loan deal, if Zaza makes five more appearances then it would trigger a permanent £20 million transfer.
