West Ham United insist they have full control over the London Stadium until the end of the football season despite the new chief executive of UK Athletics asking them to waive their tenancy rights for July's Anniversary Games.
The Hammers still have five home fixtures to schedule once Premier League football resumes following the coronavirus shutdown.
The extended season is likely to run into June and July, meaning a potential clash with the two-day Anniversary Games athletics event on July 4 and 5.
And in an interview over the weekend, UK Athletics chief Joanna Coates asked West Ham to allow the event to take precedence.
