Andy Carroll is out for four to six weeks with a knee injury in yet another huge blow for the player and West Ham.
The striker was full of confidence going into the start of the Premier League season that he had finally found the right balance in matches and training to end years of injury troubles.
But just a week into the league season, Carroll is already facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a knee problem picked up while away in Romania, where West Ham played Astra Giurgiu in a Europa League qualifier during the week.
