West Ham are ready to let Gianluca Scamacca leave this summer – with Roma his likeliest destination – but they want to sell the striker rather than send him out on loan.
Scamacca joined West Ham last summer for £35.5million. The Italian has since changed agencies, signing for CAA Stellar after a season which was disrupted by injuries.
Both Milan clubs have also been linked with the goalscorer but Roma are interested in signing him on loan with an option to buy. Talks are set to continue between representatives later this week.
West Ham want to recuperate as much of their original fee as possible, having previously lost a significant chunk on Sebastien Haller, their £45m striker they sold for £20m to Ajax after a year and a half.
