West Ham are preparing a New Year bid for Italian defender Francesco Vicari.
According to Calciomercato, the Hammers are among the clubs keeping an eye on the 23-year-old SPAL man.
The left-back has played six times in Serie A this season for the side promoted to Italy's top flight last term.
Scouts from West Ham have been impressed by Vicari and it has now been suggested that they are ready to firm up their interest with a bid.
Nobody in the Premier League has conceded more goals than West Ham so far this season and strengthening their backline will be a priority in January.
