West Ham co-owner David Sullivan says fans' 'sack the board' chants will achieve 'nothing' as he confirms £25m January bid for Stoke City's Joe Allen

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has told supporters their protests and chants against him will achieve 'nothing' — while pleading for unity at the troubled club.

The Hammers are three points off the Premier League relegation zone and Sullivan fears a 'disappointing' campaign could soon turn 'disastrous'.

Fans sang 'sack the board' and unveiled banners calling for Sullivan, co-owner David Gold and vice-chairman Karren Brady to leave the club at Brighton on Saturday.

But Sullivan, who also confirmed a failed £25million January bid to sign Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen, says their protests are pointless.
