West Ham blocked a deadline day loan move to Scunthorpe for talented midfielder Domingos Quina.
The Portugal Under-21 had his heart set on a temporary switch to the promotion chasing League One as he looks to get regular senior football under his belt.
But his hopes were dashed at the last minute by West Ham's recruitment team - led by head of recruitment Tony Henry - who pulled the plug on the deal just moments before it was due to go through.
The deal collapsed owing to West Ham's insistence that Scunthorpe paid them a substantial loan fee.
