David Gold was involved in an angry confrontation with disgruntled West Ham fans after the Hammers were crushed 4-1 by Swansea on Saturday.
The West Ham chairman was leaving the Liberty Stadium early for ‘safety reasons’ when his Rolls Royce Phantom was blockaded by several furious fans.
After braving the ‘Beast from the East’ and travelling down to South Wales, the Hammers faithful were disappointed to see their side surrender all three points so meekly to a relegation rival.
However, the furious confrontation between the Hammers chairman and the supporters threatened to escalate as Gold left his vehicle to confront the crowd, reminding them he is 82 years old.
