It was not the nicest three-year anniversary at West Ham for David Moyes, who spent it being asked whether the club were poised to break up with him.
Yet Moyes was matter-of-fact in the face of adversity, as the 59-year-old Scot insisted that he is under as much pressure as the next Premier League manager, and that it is wrong to think of Friday night’s match against Brentford as ‘must-win’.
His players are apparently shellshocked about their poor form and did not see this coming after finishing sixth in 2021.
