Cash-strapped Gillingham will be able to pay their players and staff this month.
But they may have to cash in on one of their prized assets whenever the transfer window re-opens - young defender Jack Tucker who was being watched by West Ham and Southampton before football’s hiatus - to help ease their financial woes.
Gillingham are one of a number of clubs in talks with the PFA over their players taking a future wage deferral after some of Birmingham’s squad and Leeds’s players and staff agreed to have parts of their salaries deferred.
