West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has warned that he does not intend to spend his way out of trouble and is challenging his returning forwards Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll to be the 'new signings' that kickstart their season.
Bilic was speaking ahead of the visit to Tottenham on Saturday as the Premier League resumes this weekend. He is boosted by the return to fitness of defender Winston Reid and striker Sakho, while Carroll, Arthur Masuaku and Gokhan Tore are due to resume first team training next week.
Sakho has been missing since the start of pre-season but he will be in the squad to face Spurs.
