Reece Oxford signs new long-term West Ham contract

Reece Oxford has signed a new four-and-a-half year contract with West Ham United, with the club claiming that the teenager rejected interest from some of the biggest teams in the country including Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal.

Oxford, 18 became the second youngest-ever player in Premier League history when he made his debut as a 16-year-old in a 2-0 win against Arsenal in 2015.

And he is now hoping to emulate Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole by breaking into the Hammers' first team on a regular basis.

"I am happy to have signed my new contract," Oxford told the club's official website.
