Newcastle are reportedly weighing up a late swoop in the January transfer window for West Ham United defender Issa Diop.
The Toon, mired in a battle against Premier League relegation, are still keen to land a number of targets before Monday night's deadline as they seek two new centre-backs as a main priority.
According to the Sun, they have now made an enquiry over the 25-year-old centre back.
The report adds that while the Hammers could be tempted to sell the Frenchman for around £10million, they would be unlikely to do so at least without sealing a replacement in the last few hours of the window.
