New West Ham manager David Moyes insists Karren Brady did not mention his sexist remarks while Sunderland boss, despite writing critical column

Newly-appointed West Ham manager David Moyes says he and Karren Brady did not discuss his slap incident from his time at Sunderland.

It comes after vice-chairman Brady criticised the Scot for his off-mic comment in April about slapping a female reporter, labelling him ‘sexist’ in her newspaper column.

‘If it’s wrong to be a bit racist, it’s also wrong to be a bit sexist, as Sunderland boss David Moyes found out earlier this week,’ was the headline of her opinion piece.

Asked about that on Wednesday, Moyes said: ‘It was Karren who I spoke to on the phone and it’s Karren who I had a meeting with.
