Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has claimed the Ligue 1 side thought Lucas Paqueta would join a 'big club' rather than West Ham.
The Brazilian playmaker completed his £51m switch to West Ham on Monday to become the Irons' club-record signing.
Aulas has revealed that Paqueta had his heart set on a move away from Lyon this summer, but hinted that he was surprised the 25-year-old had ended up in east London.

'It is unfortunate that Lucas Paqueta is leaving. But he wanted to leave,' Aulas told Canal+ on Monday evening.
