Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni is pleased the country's all-time top goalscorer Lionel Messi is staying put at Barcelona.
In September, the 33-year-old, who has scored 70 goals for the national team, decided to remain at the club he joined at the age of 13, having sensationally told Barca that he wanted to leave the previous month.
With the wrangling at the club seemingly put to bed for now, former West Ham United loanee Scaloni expressed his relief that the six-time Ballon d'Or winner had now returned his attention to on-pitch matters as Argentina gear up to play Ecuador in their opening 2022 World Cup qualifier at La Bombonera on Thursday.
