Homophobic leaflet allegedly distributed before West Ham vs Chelsea

The Metropolitan Police have opened an investigation after a homophobic leaflet was allegedly distributed outside the London Stadium before West Ham’s match against Chelsea.

The material, which emerged on social media on Wednesday night, encourages West Ham supporters to start a sickening song full of homophobic slurs about Chelsea defender John Terry when the game kicks off.

This came on the same day a BBC Radio Five Live survey of more than 4,000 fans across England, Wales and Scotland revealed that eight per cent of football supporters would stop backing their club if a player came out as gay.
