Harry Kane's 'phenomenal' commitment to regaining fitness was key to his goal and starring role in Tottenham's 2-0 Premier League home win over West Ham, relieved boss Jose Mourinho has declared.
England captain and Spurs top scorer Kane scored his 200th goal for the club eight minutes from the end of their hard-earned victory against the relegation-threatened Hammers, making only his second appearance since rupturing his hamstring in a 1-0 defeat at Southampton on New Year's Day.
'He worked phenomenally in this period, in lockdown at home and to get into a condition to help the team, which he is doing,' pointed out Mourinho, who had earlier called the striker 'hero Kane' while emphatically refuting claims that his leading marksman would struggle to score under his tactics.
