Full Sporting Lisbon statement confirms how much Man United paid to hire Ruben Amorim - including the extra fee to cut his notice period short

Sporting Lisbon have confirmed how much Manchester United paid them for manager Ruben Amorim.

Amorim's appointment at the Red Devils was finally confirmed on Friday, with the Portuguese taking over from Erik ten Hag after the Dutchman was sacked on Monday.

He will take charge after the international break, serving a notice period in Portugal and overseeing three more Sporting games, including a Champions League tie against Manchester City next week.

His first game in charge of United will therefore be on November 24 when the Red Devils travel to Ipswich in the Premier League.
