Every Premier League owner ranked from worst to first on current performance

The former Libyan dictator was just 'a whisker away' from owning a share in the Red Devils, according to Mehmet Dalman, the man who brokered the Glazer's takeover of the Old Trafford club.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Dalman said: "People don’t realise how the [takeover] deal was a whisker away from going to Libya. Gadaffi almost bought the club. That’s how close it got — literally you’re talking about a few hours."

Eventually, the deal collapsed because no price could be agreed and the Glazer's ended up buying the majority share in Man United.
