West Ham United's Under-21 side have been docked three points in the EFL Trophy for playing a suspended player.
Ajibola Alese was ineligible having been booked in the Hammers' opening two ties but played in the 2-0 win over Gillingham on 26 October.
The deduction means Colchester United make the knockout stages after moving up to second place in the pool, a point off new group winners Ipswich Town.
Gillingham will be awarded the £10,000 win bonus for the West Ham game.
In a statement, the EFL said that no further financial penalty would be imposed on West Ham for the breach after the club put forward mitigating factors.
