Aston Villa lead race for Robert Snodgrass loan deal as West Ham put winger on market just seven months after £10m transfer

Aston Villa have moved ahead of rivals in pursuit of signing Robert Snodgrass on loan.

West Ham made the winger available for transfer just seven months after paying Hull £10million in the winter window, and Steve Bruce has made an ambitious bid.

Bruce is unable to take Snodgrass to Villa Park on a permanent basis due to Financial Fair Play regulations but the club have proposed an attractive loan arrangement to West Ham.
