West Brom manager Tony Pulis wants Manchester City outcast Eliaquim Mangala as part of any deal that takes Jonny Evans to The Etihad Stadium.
Mangala, 26, has flopped at The Etihad Stadium since a £32million move from Porto in 2014 but Pulis likes his power and athleticism and would be happy to allow Northern Ireland skipper Evans join Pep Guardiola's side if the Frenchman moves in the opposite direction as cover.
Though City would prefer to negotiate a permanent deal for Mangala, Albion are likely to press for his move to be on loan.
Their interest in Mangala has paved the way for Stoke City to sign Tottenham centre-half Kevin Wimmer.
