West Brom keen on Real Betis right back Cristiano Piccini as Tony Pulis looks to strengthen his defence

West Bromwich Albion are checking on Real Betis right back Cristiano Piccini.

The 24-year-old former Italy U21 international has had an impressive season in Spain and has attracted interest from Sevilla also.

Albion manager Tony Pulis is keen to strengthen a number of areas of his squad but much will depend on the budget he receives from Albion's Chinese owners.

Ben Gibson is another option

Pulis is keen on the likes of Middlesbrough's Ben Gibson and William Carvalho at Sporting Lisbon but both could prove out of their price range as with Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho.
