West Brom are close to finalising an £850,000 loan deal for Egypt international defender Ahmed Hegazy.
The 26-year-old from Al Ahly is due in England on Saturday for talks over a season long loan and a medical with view to making the deal a permanent £3.5m transfer.
Hegazy, who is 6ft 5ins tall, had a spell in Italy with Fiorentina and Perugia and impressed for his country in the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year when he was named in the team of the tournament.
The Baggies had been discussing a loan for Chelsea's Kurt Zouma but were put off by the cost of the deal, believed to be £8m in total.
